Your big day is right around the corner and having glowing skin is of the utmost importance. But, how do you get that perfect glowing skin and ensure you keep it for that walk down the aisle? Since you’ve already planned a wedding, we’ll help you with the skin planning. Here are 9 helpful tips that are #skingoals.
1. Plan ahead
To get that gorgeous glow, don’t wait until the last week to start thinking about your skin; it will only make you stress out and possibly break out! Three months before your wedding begin to pay attention to your diet and your skin regimen.
2. Do a facial test run
Getting a facial before your big day is a must. Ask your skincare professional about a facial that is brightening and exfoliating to rid your pores of dirt and debris, slough away dead skin cells, and make your gorgeous face shine. A few months out, do a facial test run to make sure you have no allergic reactions and to see how aggressive the facial is. This way you can gauge when to book your appointment for your wedding.
3. Don’t experiment with new products
Stick to what you know. Trying out new skincare products can cause adverse reactions to your skin. Continue with the same routine that you know works to eliminate the risk of troubled skin.
4. Book a professional facial
After your test run, depending on how aggressive the facial was, book your pre-wedding facial at least two weeks out from your wedding day. This two week period will allow your skin to recover completely.
Exfoliating gets rid of the dull, dead skin that sits on top of the new, fresh skin. Be sure not to over do it or exfoliate too close to your wedding day as it can cause redness and irritation.
6. Eat (and drink) superfoods
Start drinking green tea STAT. A cup a day will keep the blemishes away. Along with your green tea, aim for three liters of water per day. Opt for hydrating and cooling foods like cucumber and melons and consume nutrient rich foods like kale and blueberries.
7. Pop supplements
Along with superfoods, supplements will aid in your skin health and appearance! Choose a good quality multivitamin, biotin, fish oil, and Co-q10. All of these are perfect for cell rejuvenation and will nourish your hair, skin, and nails.
8. Ice your skin
Icing your face can help rid your skin of acne, wrinkles, excess oil, and large pores. Every morning begin by washing your face and follow by applying an ice cube to your face.
9. Get plenty of rest
The night before your wedding, it is essential to get plenty of rest. You don’t want to run the risk of having dark circles and bags under your eyes. Try to get at least eight hours of sleep.
